    Question for Matt (or anyone): I noticed you claim to own a Lincoln MKC as your personal vehicle. What do you think of it? I’m in the market for a sporty SUV and I’m trying to decide between a pre-owned Lincoln MKC or new Mazda CX-5. Have you looked at the CX-5? If so, how do you think it compares? Which is more ‘fun’ to drive?

      Yes, I do own a Lincoln MKC. It’s the 2.3 AWD model. This car is a great mix of sporty and luxury. The 2.3L is a great power plant with more than enough power and torque to take advantage of the AWD system. The interior is super comfortable and great for long drives. Everything inside is very user-friendly and I really enjoy SYNC3. That being said, I do love the looks of the new Mazdas and I think they’re a great bang for your buck…especially if you’re looking to buy new. After diving the MKC for 34k Miles, I think I would be disappointed with the interior quality of the CX-5. I would also recommend going for the Lincoln 2.3l over the latest Mazda 2.0t. That little extra power really makes a difference. All in all, I really do enjoy the MKC. If I had to complain about something, it would be the gas mileage. I do mostly highway driving and have averaged only 22mpg over the last 34k Miles. The 2.0t would be a bit better in that regard, especially if you don’t have AWD. We actually have the Mazda CX-5 scheduled for a review February 19-26th….so stay tuned for our full in-depth review. We’re looking forward to spending more time with the new CX-5.
