2017 Lincoln Continental Pricing Starts at $46,000

Any customers who showed interest in the new 2017 Lincoln Continental received an email today to let them know that dealers are now taking orders. Recent reports have claimed the price would be below $50k but we now have some actual numbers around the new flagship sedan. Speaking with a dealer we found that the base Continental comes in FWD trim with the 300 horsepower 3.7L V6 that is currently found in the MKZ. For this base model without options you will be writing a check to the tune of $46,000 (Update : MSRP $45,485). This is up around $7,000 from the outgoing MKS ($39,000) that the Continental replaces. The Continental undercuts competition from the Acura RLX ($54K) and is just a touch more than the Cadillac XTS ($45k).

The big news during launch was the 400HP powertrain with AWD. This trim level can be priced up all the way to a staggering $72,000 with every option checked. More realistically a customer will be spending around $65,000 to get a decent optioned Continental with the new powerful 3.0L V6 engine [Update: Select trim with twin-turbo V6 starts at $58,000 See update below.]. The 2017 Lincoln Continental pricing may come as a shock to some but the brand is trying to compete with options in a much higher class than they have in the past. It is unclear if the company can swoon customers in German showrooms looking for a full-size sedan instead of something like an E-Class. We personally love the looks but will have to experience the car ourselves to see if a 20% discount off of an Audi A8L is truly worth the cost of this full-size domestic.

The email today also let us know that “the first 1,500 to place an order will receive a limited-edition, framed rendering of Continental that has been signed by Lincoln Design Director David Woodhouse.” So get your orders in early to get your mitts on that bad boy before they run out.
